Biography
Macartney McQuery is a Washington-licensed real estate broker (license #132195), a Redfin Principal Agent, and the founder of The McQuery Group, the family real estate team he runs with his mother, Lori Bakken, and his brother, Casey McQuery. Based in Seattle and working across the Seattle–Tacoma corridor, Macartney has closed nearly 500 transactions and more than $300 million in sales, including a top sale of $3.7 million.
Macartney formed The McQuery Group after graduating from Washington State University with a simple idea: pair genuine relationships with sharp market strategy. Before real estate he worked in the trades, and that construction background shows up in every transaction — he can walk a house and tell a client what a fix will actually cost, which repairs return money at resale, and which inspection findings are worth a fight. Sellers get a data-backed price and a prep plan; buyers get a straight answer on what they are really buying.
In 2026 Macartney was quoted in HousingWire on Redfin's push for an official "coming soon" premarketing status on the Northwest MLS, with his Tacoma listing of a one-of-a-kind 1800s home used as the example. He is a Redfin Premier and President's Club agent and a luxury specialist, and he works primarily in Seattle (Green Lake, Wallingford, Ravenna, Maple Leaf, Wedgwood, Laurelhurst, Ballard, Queen Anne), Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Maple Valley, Tacoma, Bonney Lake and Olympia.
